FLAME TREATMENT PROCESS
Main process it consists on the run of flame against the surface of the material to be treated.
Such surfaces, could be modified in terms of energy and surface tension, so improving wettability to prepare it
for next applications as printing, painting, coating, lacquering, adhesive tapes, metallization, lamination…
The materials can be treated are:
plastic materials, paper, cardboard, metallized cardboards and aluminium laminated sheet
The application of surface flame treatment technology
for PP and other films, had been subjected at large diffusion
and evaluations from the converting industry,
by resulting to be a technology extremely reliable
and to be promoted on improvements and applications.
Same technology was used on PP 3D parts
and other web materials too, as:
polyethylene, polyester, paper, paperboard…
The surface flame treatment,
is a “young” technology,
despite more than half century of his life….
FLAME TREATMENT MAIN FEATURES

The flame treatment system for rotogravure print, is composed by a mixture generator,
with integrated board and operator panel, for automation and control of equipment,
then, the treatment station unit assy.
The system, designed to work with all common industrial combustible gases,
is equipped with automatic ignition and continuous detection of flame.
It includes safety devices to detect any fault, as from European rules.
It permits a wide integration, via network data, with the printing machinery,
where it will be installed in, by giving possibilities to be managed from the main console, on line winder.
EsseCI treater, includes patented analyzer unit, to monitoring and manage (randomly or countinuosly),
the oxigen concentration inside the combustible mixture composition
FLAME TREATMENT BORN FOR THE LIMITS OF CORONA TREATMENT
During period ’60 to ’70, several quality inconveniences on “CORONA” treatment,
was rised up, by generating problems, as poor adhesion on :
lacquering, inking, coating, metallizing, gluing,
so, by rising doubts, on the reliability about “CORONA” technology,
used on industrial process of POYPROPYLENE web production.
In that time, PP web was designated to :

From 1969… our history
1969 Giulio Lori & Augusto Angeli found esseCI
The first industrial system for surface flame treatment of PP web, was born on 1972, by “esseCI – Società di costruzioni industriali “ under the job commission of Polymer Co. co-owner of Montedison. (In that time Montedison was the only PP web Italian manufacturer). Such system, was been integrated on equipment for tape production at the run speed of 25 mt/min and tape width of 1200 mm. After that, the spreading of technology was enlarged to other systems step by step more bigger, as power terms (to reply to hi-speed requests) and larger, as web width, (to reply to the hi-volume of production).
OUR TEAM INCLUDES
Carpentry, machine tools, wiring and assembly, design, R&S and WORLD WIDE SERVICE.
Total staff matters 30 workers, including 3 managers and 10 employees.

1984 The 1st , industrial flame treatment equipment for BUMPERS, to be painted
1984 Introduction to the new “polarized” flame on esseCI treatment system
1986 Application of esseCI flame treatment on CAST film
1987 The 1st International meeting on the flame treatment in Italy
